(in Arabic, Asfi), port of Morocco, on the Atlantic Ocean, in the west of
the country, in the province of Marrakech. Safi is the first fishing port
of the country. De Safi is
also exported the Moroccan production of phosphates.
The potteries constitute a considerable resource.
The town of Safi is a city strengthened, massive, dominated by the
ruins of the castle of the sultans (XVIe century). |

by the Portuguese, it remained under Portuguese domination until 1541,
